The Bishop McDevitt High School Hall of Fame consists of three wings. Below we have provided the qualifications for each of them. If you would like to nominate an individual for the Alumni, Legend, or Athletic categories, please send a letter of recommendation to friendsofbishopmcdevitt@gmail.com.
The Alumni Hall of Fame originated in 1994 which honors graduates for giving life to our mission, vision, and values during, and in the years following their graduation from McDevitt. Qualifications should include one or more of the following:
Career Success: Demonstrated excellence in a profession (e.g., business, education, law, medicine, military, arts).
Public Recognition: Awards, honors, or media coverage acknowledging their accomplishments.
Community Service: Significant involvement in charitable, civic, or humanitarian efforts.
Connection to Bishop McDevitt: Ongoing involvement or support of our Alma Mater. Strong representation of the school’s values in their personal and professional life.
The Legends of McDevitt category was introduced in 2015 to honor both alumni and non-alumni who have been so influential in their commitment to our school, its students, faculty, and community as to be considered a “Legend” of McDevitt. Qualifications should include one or more of the following:
Do not have to be a graduate of Bishop McDevitt
Must have had a positive, long term impact on the Bishop McDevitt community.
Examples include teachers, administrators, and coaches.
The Athletic Hall of Fame was started in 2020 to honor Royal Lancer student-athletes whose performance on the field and in the classroom exemplified a commitment to hard work, dedication, and excellence. Qualifications should include one or more of the following:
Outstanding Athletic Achievement: earned All-Catholic or All-State, played multiple sports at a high level, set school, district, or state records.
Coaches: Known for mentoring athletes and promoting character, teamwork, and leadership. Built or significantly improved a program during their tenure.
