Gary Odom graduated from Bishop McDevitt High School in 1979. In 1980 he began establishing himself as one of the premier DJs in Philadelphia. By the 1990s his career was in full swing, working weddings, birthdays, and parties for celebrities such as Will Smith, Randall Cunningham, and Boyz 2 Men.
In 1993 he joined Power 99FM and WDAS where he worked alongside Philadelphia urban music legends such as Lady B and Patty Jackson. In 1996 he took his talents to television when he joined 'In Planet Groove', a music oriented weekly talk sho that premiered on BET.
Gary has been using his time and talent to give back to the community working with the Philadelphia 8th District's Council woman Cindy Bass for the past 6 years as part of her 'Reclaiming Our Public Spaces' campaign. The 8th District Council of Philadelphia offers residents many beautiful urban parks and open spaces; however crime and loitering deter citizens from enjoying these spaces.
In addition to working with Councilwoman Bass, Gary has contributed his time to the United Negro College Fund and the Mayor's Office for the past 3 years. He can also be seen every week in the summer as part of the City of Philadelphia's Department of Parkrs and Recreation Concert Series at the Dell Music Center.
